IAW! - INTERCHANGING ART WORLDS
BANDO À PARTE 2010-11
March 26 – April 2, Coimbra

INTERCHANGE AND ARTISTIC RESIDENCE INTERCHANGING ART WORLDS
Reality and fantasy in the rediscover of the different faces of Coimbra, through the artistic creativity of young European citizens

Welcome to the interchange and artistic residence Interchanging Art Worlds, taking place in the downtown area, in the uptown area, in the Botanic Garden and in Oficina Municipal do Teatro! IAW is an initiative integrated in BANDO À PARTE: YOUTH CULTURES, ARTS AND SOCIAL INCLUSION 2010-11, a project of artistic education in the fields of theater, music and dance, initiated in January of this year at Teatrão.

BANDO À PARTE is a proposal to recreate citizenship from de formal and informal artistic education of youth. IAW is the first public initiative of this project and a first opportunity to question how artistic education and intercultural dialogue may contribute to rethink youth active participation and youth citizenship in the contemporary world.

During 8 days, the youth group from Bando à Parte will receive youth from Amsterdam, in the Netherlands, from Het MUZtheater, and from Vicenza, in Italy, from Theatro Montegrappa. It will be 37 youth working together on this artistic residency and in other cultural and social activities. The activity program includes, as a starting point, the artistic exploration of different Coimbra urban spaces, with the main goal of presenting, during all week, artistic happenings and sketches in the urban spaces. In the last day, the all group will integrate a final presentation.
